In fact, every single fighter I work with would much rather fight on their feet if they had the choice (even the guys who consider themselves great ground fighter). It\u2019s simply much more dangerous to fight on the ground.\n\nThe problem is that, despite your best efforts, you may find yourself on the ground having to defend yourself. That\u2019s why I chose to share this video with you. I don\u2019t want you caught in that kind of situation without having a way to recover. As former Delta Force Operator Dale Comstock says in the video, the number one goal is to get back to your feet as quickly as possible.\n\nUsing one leg and one arm to get back to your feet allows you to stay facing your attacker. It also keeps one leg free to create distance and hold an attacker back. This self-defense technique also leaves one arm free to protect your head.\n\nAlthough getting to your feet is number one, you cannot let your guard down or put yourself at any more risk than is necessary. For that reason you should never be afraid to abort a recovery attempt in order to defend against a potentially deadly strike. After all this is self-defense.\n\n[dfads params='groups=292&amp;limit=1&amp;orderby=random']\n<h4>Wrapping up<\/h4>\nTake some time to practice this recovery technique. You want to be proficient at moving around and keeping your attacker in front of you.
