More Distraction Techniques

Well is sounds like you guys have used some distraction techniques in real life to get out of some nasty situations. Its just more proof to the rest of you who are reading the blog that distractions are a street proven way to win a fight. I don’t make this stuff up. Anyways its good to hear from readers who find this stuff useful.

As promised I have a couple more distraction techniques for you.

More Physical Distractions:

A great physical distraction is to flick a lit cigarette in an attackers face. Nobody likes hot embers and ash in their eyes, he will try to block it or brush the ash from his face giving you an opening. This opening will be short so get to work quickly.

Lastly, as the reader commented on the last post throw some change on the ground. Just slip it out of your pocket onto the floor. The giggling of change on the hard ground (make sure it’s not carpet or the joke will be on you) causes an almost reflex like reaction to look to see if there are any quarters (or at least that’s what I look for).

You can also throw change in his face if you have the opportunity.

Mental Distractions:

These are often a bit less effective, but good to know in case you don’t have any other options.

A mental distraction would be something like suddenly looking over your opponents shoulder and faking a look of complete surprise or terror. This will often result in him looking over his shoulder, or at the very least thinking twice about looking over his shoulder. If you don’t think this really works check out Paul’s comment from the last post. This is a street proven technique.

Either way you have a split second chance to take the offensive.

If you know any more great distractions please comment and share them with the other readers. I know there are a lot more out there.
