Simple & Nasty Arm Break Move

Simply Devastating

This brutal arm break move is highly effective and very easy to learn. As Mike Serr explains, relying on complex manipulations to deal with punches is often times just wishful thinking, especially if you can’t devote several hours a week to training. This move will allow you to end a fight quickly and brutally.

World's Fastest Drawing Knife.

You wanna try out the fastest drawing knife on the planet? Good. Because here's your chance to get it for FREE.

It even comes with a video showing you exactly how to draw this folder from your pocket (one-handed) so that it snaps open and is ready for action in the blink of an eye. (Your buddies are going to be sooo freaked out when they see this).

Breaking It Down

The arm break move shown in the video relies on gross motor skills and can work even if the attacker lands the punch. To execute the arm break move there are 3 basic steps:

  1. Get your guard up and dodge the incoming punch.
  2. Pin the attacker’s arm between your arm and your body (this will ideally happen while you are dodging the incoming punch).
  3. Throw your weight into the attacker’s upper arm.

Depending on the force you use you will either throw him to the ground, detach his bicep, break the arm, or all of the above.

Wrapping Up

What makes this technique unique is that is works even if you are struck by the punch. As Mike demonstrates in the video, it is still possible to pin the arm and execute the technique even if you are hit. Just remember, regardless of whether you are hit or not, you must be fast. An attacker isn’t going to leave his arm out there for you to play with.

If you see the punch coming, you need to start trapping the arm while the punch is still extending. The full speed demonstration shows how the avoidance and pinning happen simultaneously.

  1. Good video on the arm break. For my self defense I use a seven point strike that encompasses four Dim Mak points. I never leave home without a weapon. I have two weapons on me at all times. I have a kubaton and a automatic double action out the front knife with a four inch double edged blade. I only use the knife if I’m out numbered or things really get nasty. So generally I use the kubaton. I first strike the attackers left temple with a forward lash strike with the kubaton. Because my arm has now moved to the left, I follow up with a backhand strike with the kubaton to the attackers right temple. Now my arm is over to the right so I throw a forward slash with the kubaton to the attackers left carotid artery. Those are three of the Dim Mak strikes that will usually stop the game right there. But I follow on with a left hook then a right cross then I poke his left eye out with the kubaton. Now he’s done for sure. This is the only move I practice because I want to cut my survival stress reaction time down to the lowest point possible. Since this is all I do I don’t waste precious seconds figuring out what punch, elbow, knee, whatever to throw.

  2. This technique works all too well!

All my coworkers know I am heavily into martial arts. They also know my speed, and lethality I have demonstrated many times during our lunch breaks (we get an hour for lunch) for our female members how they can defend themselves against larger, stronger men. A couple of newguys thought it might be funny to have their cousin stop in and see if he could beat me in combat. Little known to me they never said he was an ex Delta Force operator. They just said he was good at martial arts.

So we squared off at lunch with everyone watching while we used the upstairs storage room. It’s huge, since our warehouse is just as big. He circled looking for an opening. Then he tried a front snap kick, which I side stepped. Then a punch, when I used the break technique since his kick was meant to harm me, I could tell he was there to hurt me, not just goof off. So I trapped his arm and went for the break. It was almost too easy. Later after I saw him a few weeks later with a cast on, did I learn he was a former Army Delta Force operator.

  3. Bob: As a former Army Ranger I really enjoy these videos. It’s like a refresher course all over again. Thanks and keep them coming. Rich

  4. Wow! What an excellent defensive move, even for women! We might not could break the arm, but might be able to do enough damage to get away. Great especially for the ladies with the domestic abuse cowards that like to punch on women because they are scared to
pick on men. Go girls, go! Learn these moves and take the bastards out! Thank you so much for the practical side of self defense. The Martial Arts are beautiful to watch, but the regular American terrorist is not going to wait for a pretty response. He/she will punch you again or kill you. Sharing your years of experience is so appreciated. You are saving lives and making people more aware so that they can protect themselves.

  5. Simple but affective moves. I am 77 years old
and handicapped but I feel I could use your methods if assaulted. Fast and effective.

  6. It sounds like Patrick Thomas goes looking for fights. There is plenty of trouble out there without looking to cause more.

  7. Great move! The complicated stuff works in practice…but in real-life situations keep in simple.

  8. This is one of the best moves that I have ever seen to instantly end the fight. There are others, but by breaking ths guys are, or even breaking anything or causing any type of injury of the aggressor is the best way to shorten a fight. The street world is totally different then fighting in the ring with a ref. The longer the fight goes on, the more chance you will have at losing it. I am not a big guy, and I am almost 74 years old. There is no way I would want to go toe to toe with a larger, strong, younger, out to bet the crap out of me guy. I want that fight over with in seconds, NOT MINUTES. And this looks like it will do just that.

  9. Glad to see some people still concerned with instructing novices how to defend themselves. To me the key is not to be passive but resist with force and a strong will not to be overcome by bullies. I have found that a loud determined vocal response sometimes stops them in their tracks and causes enough delay to either fight or flight.

  10. I started Judo when I was 5 & did it seriously for 12 years. I was lucky enough to go to camp twice to learn the ” Art ” of Judo, which is a beautiful thing. My Sensei was a little ” out there” though, he taught us a technique of catching the punch thrown at your face at the wrist with both hands. Turn into your opponent,( wrist, elbow,up) Put your weight on THIER elbow, which breaks or hyper extends thier wrist, elbow, shoulder. He spoke of breaking/ dislocating all three. I was NEVER able to catch a punch BEFORE it landed. I always caught it as it hit me in the nose/mouth. The way Sensei did it was BEAUTIFUL! I just couldn’t do it, but boy, could I catch a punch with my face!
I’ve taught my students the “love tap” ( last video) and how EVERY joint is a weak spot. Go fo that knee! Go for the wrist and or elbow! Hell go for the eyes! If it’s him or you, I taught my Wife ” no mercy” grab a chunk and yank! There are no rules when it come to your survival!

  11. If I ever get into a fight I want there to be two hits, I hit him and he hits the ground, Game over, In my mind I worked out a few moves that I thought would work, but yours are simpler. Thanks.

  12. This was an EXCELLENT teaching tool. He, of course makes it look simple. This is
    due to his professionalism.

  13. I like the valuable information you provide in your articles. I’ll bookmark your blog and check again here regularly. I am quite sure I’ll learn a lot of new stuff right here! Best of luck for the next!

  14. Nice move if I ever need this move i will be sure to break their arm…thanks send more defensive tactics.

  16. Hi Bob
Thanks for all the really good and well shown defensive hand to hand combat moves. It is really great to have a guy like you on the web taking care of older people too, as your info is very useful in many ways for even a 60 year old like me. Although i have had quite a bit of combat training during my life already, it is good to go into detail again with those wonderful streetwise moves. What is really a negative issue is the fact, that me staying South Africa cannot get your freebies, that is a damned shame..
Keep it up and thanks for all to come!
    B.

  17. Great SHORT video, straight to the point, not dragging on and on. But, you will have to be really fast to facilitate such a move. And, the attacker more than likely going to initiate multiple left and right punches…….if the attacker is drunk, you will have better chances as long as you are not drunk.

I would like to see this facilitated in a Real full ou fight exchanging .punches.

Practice, practice your Speed and you will deliver this move to snap an arm.
