Bad News: Most Criminals Get Away With It

Does Crime Pay?

Polite society likes to ignore some simple facts associated with crime. Take this one for example; We are raised hearing the mantra that “crime doesn’t pay.” Wrong. Crime does pay. It pays pretty well too.

Some might say it’s one of the best-kept secrets in personal finance, except it’s not a secret. It’s just a fact that makes a lot of folks uncomfortable, so they pretend it’s not true. So what’s my point? Don’t worry, I’m not suggesting you quit your day job and go knock off a liquor store.

Here’s The Real Lesson

If every criminal got caught the first or even second time they committed a crime, we would very quickly have them all locked up! The reality is that only the bad or unlucky criminals get caught and locked up, and many of those that do get locked up use prison as a place to hone their skills.

Once they’re back on the street, they are even more skilled. That means that if you are targeted by a criminal you must assume you’re going up against a pro. You are more than likely NOT their first victim. They have a plan, they know how to get what they want, and they even know how to get away with it.

They Feed On Our Fear

Frankly, they’re used to winning. Most people shrink when faced with a hardened criminal (or any criminal for that matter). Fearing for their safety, they nervously give the criminal what they want. Criminals thrive off the fear of violence. Violence is their business and they know it pretty well.

If you are reading this then this probably isn’t new information, but it’s easy (even for those of us who aren’t naïve about crime) to get lulled into a false sense of security. The completely naïve think that they are pretty much safe all the time.

World's Fastest Drawing Knife.

You wanna try out the fastest drawing knife on the planet? Good. Because here's your chance to get it for FREE.

It even comes with a video showing you exactly how to draw this folder from your pocket (one-handed) so that it snaps open and is ready for action in the blink of an eye. (Your buddies are going to be sooo freaked out when they see this).

Overconfidence Can Work Against You

Others think that because they are aware of crime and have thought about what they would do (maybe they even carry a self-defense weapon) that they are prepared. I’m not here to pass judgment on anyone, but there is a fine line between confidence and a dangerous level of over-confidence.

Remember, many criminals are very good at what they do. You need to train to survive a confrontation with a pro, not a beginner. You have to train to beat the best, so take your defensive training seriously.

Ask Yourself This

If you carry a weapon, when was the last time you trained in drawing and deploying it? Weapon or not, when was the last time you threw a few punches? Do you know how to transition from a weapon to bare hands in case of a malfunction (for firearms) or loss of control of an edged or blunt-force weapon?

Even masters have to go through the motions to keep their skills sharp, so set aside some time each week to practice. Keep your skills sharp, because when it hits the fan you never really know what you’re going up against. You could be facing anything from a rookie who’s all talk or a seasoned pro, and you definitely do NOT want to find out which you are facing the hard way.

  1. To Alvin Decker: When guns are outlawed, you will suddenly become a member of the largest outlaw group in the world, the American gun owner, which numbers about 100 million people. No Army in the world tops that number.

  2. Bill Andrews: Take some time and check out an Organization called the United States Concealed Carry Association, that provides Legal Defense Counsel for all of its members, who are forced to use their firearm to protect their life, or their family’s lives. All Lawyers are strong Second Amendment, and Self Defense Attorneys. It’s worth the time, and money to purchase this type of Insurance.

  3. In resent years my body has been slowed down due to a work injury. Im 67 years old and over 6 ft tall @ 225 lbs. Self defence
Has become an issue with regard to my loss of muscle and redistribution of weight above the belt line. Im a walking target for crooks. I appreciate your blogs and when l can afford it I get reading materal. Simple but effective is the only defence methods I can consider. Thanks for the info.

  4. Even more thanks, I think you read minds… Hehe! This was a wake up call precisely at the right time!!!! I am so in debt to you for all the tips and lessons, and we shall have a talk about survival weapons and such(things are starting to look up for me financialy) Again I thank you out of the depths of my heart, everything you posted/sent was/ is useful, feel like I really owe you! Thank you Brother in Arms!

  5. Well I’m a 53yr old cancer patient/survivor!! I went from186lbs of walking family protection to100lbs of couldn’t fight his way out of wet paper bag no energy or stamina meat bag! I LOVE your blog and fight fast videos! I might not look like I could hurt you but you don’t want to try your luck with ME!! Thanks You for all the help giving me the smart moves to be a protector again!! NOT scared of MY SHADOW!!

  6. I thoroughly believe in evil(bad) people.
I do not believe in luck or unlucky.
right time and place for sure.
also know what ever my skill level there is Always someone better, I’ve proven accounts when growing up on the chi town streets going up against 2,3 or more.
the one on one days are long gone.
I may be up in years but know and remember everything taught me.
various arts and skills I feel fortunate to not be pushing up daisies due to encounters in the past.that said I believe I can assertain almost any situation and know in my heart of hearts how to handle it, naturally there will be some I don’t.
Every situation is not necessarily unique.
I personally treat every altercation if it comes up as dealing with someone who knows what they’re doing, then and only then if it’s warranted will those souls find out I also have a firm grip on what I am doing and how to do it.NEVER take anything for granted. I am normally a nice guy but if push comes to shove I can make life miserable and painful.in the event the law needs to intervene, I can and would secure the situation until they arrive but if there is no authority coming I can wrap it up and leave whomever in the gutter if needed NOT necessarily dead but they might wish they were.
Additionally I have an uncanny ability to know or feel when something is not right.
One of the first things learned was Expect the unexpected which I do. I have a reputation, those that know me know it, those I’ll willed that don’t oh well they will find out. Good blog, great videos Thanks!
it’s good to be reminded of things now and then.

  7. In today’s world self defense is becoming more and important and those of us who are well trained,, even though we are in our later years, know how to disable and defeat. I hope it never happens but at 74 yrs I still feel confident in my abilities. Number one defense is a good offense–the first attack must come from the supposed victim.

  8. I never let my guard down,I am disabled and know that makes me a target. I try and always look around and be aware of what is around me. Thanks to your company I have some help that I can carry with me on my walker and on my person in case I need it. Thank you all so much for all your information and products. I wish I could afford more. Keep up the good work and Bless you all.

  9. Unlike all or moat other teenagers,I am not naive,I have been there, seen it,done that,I live in a very peaceful village in the English countryside, but even then I am always very aware of my surroundings, these people do exist,I grew up around violence and drugs and all sorts ,and have experienced all sorts of abuse at an early age,the sort of abuse that would have killed any normal seven-year old,I have been stabbed, threatened and strangled at that age as well,so for you teenagers,(and adults) who perceive the world to be a place full of health and safety executives and lovely mummy’s and daddy’s,don’t be fooled, don’t be too overconfident ,LIFE IS NOT a fairytale and these people have most likely dealt with plenty of youngsters/young adults before, you are not a top dog,you are in fact, your average normal person/chav off of the street,I know I sound cruel, but with life experience comes discipline and wisdom.i have seen many teenagers these days and they in fact fight like feral dogs,it’s disgraceful ,which is why I am glad these sort of websites exist,so don’t let Bobs work go to waste! Use your skills carefully, not pointlessly, should a criminal threaten you with a gun,you need to ANALYSE the situation and depending on your body type is what depends on what you do,everything is not the same, whether you like it or not women have a huge advantage over men when it comes to hand-to-hand as their hips and flexible body allow for more elegant, free movements, speed + accuracy potentially equals power, power and big muscles are the last thing you want to worry about in a fight ,sure they are nice but unless you have the stamina to use them for a long time then they mean nothing ,to put it simply ,you are done for,and DO NOT assume that the bigger you are the slower you are, that is so naive,I weigh 15 stone and none of my family or friends can hear any of my footsteps ,big, silent, strong and deadly, and I am also 6’1 ,so no,speed does not depend on size I am also broad.if you are muscular ,muscle is twice as dense as fat so you must allow for this when moving ,if your footwork is too wobbly your opponent may push you into s corner and could take advantage of your mistake, how you develop techniques is up to you and your body type,Bob just supplies you with the foundation of the house, you need to build the rest,as I will do here, remember to not take this risk with an armed criminal unless YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO,this is very risky and dangerous,if you are facing the criminal ,and the criminal is threatening you with a handgun, depending on your distance ,I want you to ROLL INTO him,yes that’s right, running away only gives him/her the advantage.timing and speed is everything for this, quickly grab hold of his arm and press down on his wrist, this WILL force him to let go of the gun, grab it and them point it at him, kill him only if necessary,as for other ways,I will let bob take care of the rest, this is his business after all

  10. My brother is a Salt Lake City police officer in Utah. SWAT team at one time. 16 plus years. You wouldn’t believe the things that go on even inside the police department. It’s important to keep your cardio level up. Some strength training 20 to 30 minutes everyday. 20 to 30 minutes cardio. And 20 to 30 minutes with weapons and or hand-to-hand Close Quarters combat. And don’t forget weapons of opportunity. I’ve been in prison myself. And I’m reformed and I am now a contractor. So you can pretty much say I’ve seen it all. I’ve gone up against the gangsters. And the murderers. I’ve woke up in the hospital and could barely recognize myself in the mirror. You’re so right. Criminals going around everyday picking their Mark’s and targeting civilians all the time. It’s their trade. And most of them are addicted to hardcore narcotics. And are basically just out of their mind. They have no respect for themselves or others. Practice practice practice. The 3DS desire determination and dedication. My mom went on a small trip last year to California and ended up right in the middle of a hotel robbery at gunpoint. So what I’m saying. Is really a lot of people are naive as to what’s really going on around them even in small towns. It’s important to have training. And you can go out there and get it. Learn The Art of War. That is the true martial art. Pray that something like that never happens to you but if you find yourself there be prepared. I could go on but that pretty much sums it up.

  11. I think everyone should learn at least a few defensive moves or tactics. I believe it’s a sad though that people should have to learn to defend themselves or that some people are afraid to walk down their streets in fear or something happening. maybe one day we won’t have to

Great blog by the way it’s very helpful

  12. Your arrival is full of truth, however not only are non-crimal’s have access to what you teach but so are criminals. Which will make your teachings non & void.

  13. I’m not a senior but I’m a girl and so this information. Is gold! Yes I do heavy bag boxing training and your videos too, but I could practice with my weapon of choice, drawing it and imagining a fight scenario. Great points. It makes me so mad to hear in the news about women being murdered and if only they had had a couple of your techniques down, it may have turned out better for them:(

  14. I’m well trained in all types of weapons and concealed carry, long range target rifles, shotguns of all types semi auto handguns and wheel guns. Have carried concealed for over 40 years.

  15. I learned to ride a bike aged 5 I still ride, joined the Army aged 17 left aged 40 I am 63 now I learned your mind and body and any other articles handy when the violence happens.Love the videos Support for Veterans both sides of the pond.

  16. I have no fear. I am adequately armed at at all times and well trained in combat. I have camera alarms strategically positioned on my property.
I live in a fairly high crime area, but the criminals know enough about me to not want to mess with me. They fear me more than I fear them and don’t want to get their head cracked or end up as coyote food.

  17. being partially paralyzed, I fear more for my family, than myself. prior to this condition, I had no fears about anything or anyone, but I appreciate what you say and where you are coming from, as my condition has created a greater sense of awareness towards people, places, and things around me and has forced me to plan my day and movements more carefully, gone are the days of throwing caution to the wind and full speed ahead. I still pity the fool who fucks with me, for I am more prepared to kill him now than ever before, thanks

  18. Hi Bob,

This is Tony here from South Africa – I am a 1st Dan Blackbelt in Goju Ryu and assistant Instructor.
I love your articles on self-defense – every now and then I like to have a break in teaching “Karate” to my students
and this is where i slip in a session talking about Self Defense which your articles help in providing – karate alone is not enough
and we need to be aware of other ways to overcome attackers – as you might be aware South Africa is quite a violent nation with lots
of attacks on people happening every day and our record for catching these criminals is unfortunately not very good.
So keep the articles coming they are greatly appreciated.

    Tony

  19. What are your thoughts on the gangstalking.or remote nuro monitoring that is sweeping america and canada. Defense? How to fight it ? Or bring them down.

  20. I’m not too woried about my neighborhood. Everyone knows I am a retired bounty hunter/private investigator and I’m armed to the teeth.

  21. Thanks,, Mr Pierce.
I have started doing PT and practicing karate, WWII Combatatives, and stuff I pick up onlne, from you and others. I did Krav Maga for a while; loved the classes, great workout-which, to be honest is what older gents like me really need. But the money ran out, and I’m doing a couple of legal hustles to make money. I’ll gladly sign up for your mini clinics though. I am trying to find a local Wado Ryu school that will get me up to Ni dan black bely. I’m sho dan.
For those whose funds and space are limited, I highly recommend a gravity/glideboard machine such as the one put out by Weider, ir a knock off. You can get a good one without having to pay Churk Norris to smile at the camers/ I have great respect fro Mr Norri’s opinions about fitness and martial arts, but filmmaking? Eh.

  22. No amount of training is too much! The older you get the more that you to practice. Any and all training you can get is better for the survival of self and family.

  23. This the truth but our country is under attack from within giving more rights to criminals I am retired and try to keep abreast of my training your articles are very informative .

  24. To Roy C Holmes, and all others; “PERFECT PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT”— That’s the Actual Quote from the wisdom of Green Bay Packer’s Coach Vince Lombardi. You can practice all day long, and all night long too, but if you are practicing a flawed, or incorrectly executed maneuver, your execution in time of need will be FLAWED and impotent, maybe even the equivalent of a self-inflicted wound, or worse. EVERY PART OF THE MECHANICS OF A SELF-DEFENSE TECHNIQUE IS CRITICAL TO IT’S EFFECTIVENESS.—- Best Wishes, and may you achieve PERFECTION in your PRACTICES.

  25. As a soldier for 16 years and a cop for over 30, I learned to do at 10 to 15 presentations ever time I strap on my weapon. I am in my 70’s and still train 3 days a week for at least 1.5 hrs. per session, as well as spar and teach on a regular basis. “I ain’t as good as I once was, but I’m as good once as I ever was.

  26. Hey man I like seeing and reading this info cause your exactly right most ppl don’t even give it a thought but I know first hand the cold reality of it and these self help training videos are the bomb man I have learned quite a few moves to stop an attack thanks for the info and videos keep up the hard work you do

  27. I enjoy fightfast. Wish i had more time to watch videos and opportunity to test my skills. I have been in more than my share of street fights. Many being outsized and out numbered. I am a fan of silent weapons, i believe there will be a time that we will be preyed on by people unable to live without taking from us what they need to survive. Anyway. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.

  28. I carry a gun and a knife 24-7. If I could find a water proof gun I would carry it in the shower. I have worked on the sidelines of two home invasions. Both resulted in the deaths of 10-20 folks not inculding the immediate victims and the perps. I don’t shoot as often as I should but do draw the gun every day. Most crooks are NOT bright. They are practiced at doing one thing and doing it well. Rarely can they do more than one thing. Learning to do several ways of self defense are good. Say hitting and kicking for one. Twisting and breaking for another. Maybe one crook out of a thousand can deal with both unless you are very, very good. Pelple who connect self defense with workout training are very smart. I have trained folks in their 80s. Age is not the issue. Attitude is. To defend one self, one has to be willing to do so. I have seen a 70 year old lady beat the snot out of 3 young thugs with her cane! Canes are excellent weapons as are walkers and wheel chairs.
Sorry, I get carried away sometimes.

  29. I’m 71 years old . I have fibromyalgia , bone spurs from my neck down just above my tailbone . I also have osteoporosis arthritis . There are days where I have a hard time moving . I’m not trying to make excuses , just stating my conditions . I know it won’t be too much in the future when there will be a lot of splatter hitting the fan , not to mention what is going on now . I want to know how to protect myself

  30. I know how to fight too spent six years in the Army trading how to fight and kill with one finger.

  31. Bob Your KNIFES are the best I have ever seen and I am talking about some of the finest American Knife makers in the world.

    Your fighting videos are Great.

  32. who me? I’m a very skilled fighter with many years of hand to hand fight training. I am skilled in various weaponry as well as machete fighting skills as well as Govmaga and Aikido.

  33. Assume he is a pro every time and prepare for tha when you are training. It may not work out the best for you every time but at least you will know you tried your best and so will everyone else who hears about it.

  34. Thank you for being there for so many people out here that are older and not as experienced, I was in the Marines six years and have an hour and a half of special training and even though I’m retired and disabled now I believe that I can still hold my own, just have to get it done quickly and effictively and really like your advice and guidance on how to get it done! I’m on a fixed income and expenses are killing me but sometimes really would like to have some of your stuff please keep me informed and on the hotlist, keep safe and use your mind always and don’t forget to flip the switch when needed!!!

  35. I’d have to say ur absolutely correct on what ur sayin. Practice, practice, practice! ! ! Practicing will not make us perfect regardless of how the old saying goes. But it will get you as damn close as ur physical capabilities will allow. In the military when we got something perfect (or so we thought) you did it again & again just so you cld see just how perfect you “thought” you were. So don’t let up & do it again !

  36. Ever since the first guy found a cave and moved in with his woman and his kids. He tamed a wolf cub to help protect the family, put some big rocks at the mouth of his cave and kept a fire burning he thought he was safe. But there always was another guy with a club who said, “I want your stuff”.

  37. Years of Martial arts training including weapons training are not easy to forget. That training comes out as a natural response to a attacker. Targets are automatically drilled into the subconscious and you instinctively react to the danger at hand. But repetitive training sharpens those skills

  38. Dear Sir, I so appreciate your input. Make no mistake you and your team are making a difference every day. As a senior citizen (mid 70’s), my EDC gives me an at-the-ready option of non-lethal, less lethal and lethal. I’m legally armed every time I take out the trash, grocery shop, gather with family and friends or visit the mailbox. Thank you very much.

    Respectfully Yours, (Grandma G)

  39. Thanks for the information because I’m in a Electric wheelchair and yes I carry. What you are saying is very true. In these days one must always be prepared for anything. God Bless Always and keep up the good words

  40. hey bob and everyone and thank you for my last order i truly appreciate it! and yes i feel your pain with the crime from every level! sick of seeing it everywhere you look! thats why im glad we hooked up thank you again and happy new year!

  41. Yes your right crime does pay, depends on what kind of crime your in to and I know 15 years ago I was the criminal made almost $1000 a day and it isn’t worth it, I did 40 months prison, almost 24 months county time, lost a good marriage my son was 7 years old (lost time there) but prison helped me out with my life, got sober got my shit together, did what I could to try to fix everything with my son, walking a straight line for 15 years, life good it really is what you make it. I own just about everything TRS sells, love their products and let’s see what your going to throw up for sale this year. Love the self defense lessons

  42. Thank you so much for your great advice. My family moved and inadvertently got into a cute, historic neighborhood only a few blocks away from “The Zoo”. So named because the people there live like animals.

I hear gun fire regularly all summer. We have family protocols on how to react when we are out with the new baby. It’s crazy . I never lived in a place like this before .

My son is working as much as he can so we can get out of this craziness.

Meanwhile I am reading your posts and looking at as many videos as I can . I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your free info . I was in a bad auto accident in my early 50’s so my career as a RN was suddenly over . My “wonderful” husband decided to get a girlfriend instead of helping me in my recovery.

I’m doing well, but know I have to be alert and protect myself and my family, even after leave this insane place.

How has our world gotten this crazy?
