Blow Past Multiple Attackers With The Wedge Technique

The Wedge Technique

This self-defense technique is so effective because it utilizes simple full-body movements and requires no fine motor skills. Everybody knows how to run and push forward with their arms. The secret here is to know how to properly use your body weight.

World's Fastest Drawing Knife.

You wanna try out the fastest drawing knife on the planet? Good. Because here's your chance to get it for FREE.

It even comes with a video showing you exactly how to draw this folder from your pocket (one-handed) so that it snaps open and is ready for action in the blink of an eye. (Your buddies are going to be sooo freaked out when they see this).

About This Technique

This technique comes from Christophe Clugston’s “Comhrac Bas” which is a martial art he created based on the fighting techniques of Roman Gladiators, Clugston’s real-world street fighting and bar bouncing experience, and his extensive martial arts background. You can’t find this training anywhere else.

When Is This Useful?

The primary purpose of this technique is to help deal with a self-defense situation where there are multiple attackers coming at you. In this type of situation your best bet is to deal with each attacker individually. To do this, you need to be able to break the group of attackers up.

This wedge technique allows you to move past one or more attackers quickly so you can disrupt their plans and deal with whichever one you want first or blow past all the attackers and escape to safety. Every self-defense situation is different, so it is up to you to know which route is the best to take in the heat of the moment.

Breaking It Down

Alright, so now that you know what situations to use this in, let’s break it down. This simple, two-step technique is goes as follows:

  • Drive through the person. Don’t just run up to them and push their shoulder. Run through them while pushing. Targeting the shoulder is important. If you target their core you’re simply tackling them (which is exactly the opposite of what you want). Targeting their shoulder causes them to rotate around their center of gravity, allowing you to pass by them while they are thrown off balance.
  • Plan on using this move on the attacker’s left shoulder (your right side). About 85% of people are right handed and nearly all untrained fighters will try to strike first with a wide right haymaker. Moving to your right (his left) makes it difficult for him to land his punch. You can even circle to your right before you drive past him with the wedge.

Don’t worry if you happen to come across a lefty or your attacker throws a left punch, this fight move will still work. In fact, it will cause a lot more damage to the shoulder joint and by striking the shoulder of his punching arm, you will take all the power out of his punch.

A Quick Reminder

In case it wasn’t clear in the video, you should always use heavy padding when practicing this technique. If you don’t have access to full body pads have a partner stand behind a heavy bag. Never practice this technique on someone without some sort of padding, the shoulder is a sensitive joint which is easily damaged.

  1. Great visual. When I read the sales pitch ..it doesn’t motivate me to buy the product.
It is impossible to judge the credibility of a DVD by a description of what is supposed to be on it. This clip shows the unique approach taken by Mr.Clugston, and clear explaination to match. Thanks

    1. Hello Charles,
Bob here, I’m not in regular contact with Mr. Clugston but here is my suggestion, I believe he would agree with it. If you are still able to walk, jog, and run at a moderate level you will be able to use CB. Comhrac Bas was specifically designed to use motions everyone is already familiar with. It doesn’t require great athletic ability and you don’t have to be 25 to make it work. CB is a great down and dirty self defense method to be used by just about anyone regardless of age.
      Hope this helps,
      Bob

  2. The video shows the attacker throwing a right punch and at the same time throwing his right leg forward.
Most fighters will not take that right leg flowing with the right hand, rather it would be a pile-driver ‘cross’, in which case the ‘wedge’ technique would not be adequate ( assuming that most punches thrown will be either the lead jab or cross.
May I suggest the following techniques against multiple attackers.
    1. a simple left arm block and simultaneous ‘flip’ of the right hand fingers to the eyes ( hands flipped very fast in rigid position, straight for the eyes. This defensive offense takes practise, but is simple and requires very little force, but great ‘flow’ and rapidity. Form a ‘cobra’s head’ with your right hand and flip it FAST AND HARD at the open palm of your left hand. You won’t feel a thing. Now imagine flipping your right hand with the same amount of speed and force into someone’s eyes. See ?
    2. The 2nd technique involves a left hand block and simultaneous pile-driver lightning punch to the floating rib or the solar plexus. since the attacker will be throwing his body weight forwards with his punch, your counter to the floating rib or solar plexus will be devastating. NEVER counter-punch to the face, as this will not stop a determined attacker, more so if he has a tough jaw or face.
    3. When a person throws a cross or jab, simply kick FAST AND HARD at his ankle. This technique is very damaging and should not be tried with friendly partners with great force and the hip joint of the femur may be dislocated. The principle is the attacker is throwing his entire body weight with his punch with the lead leg taking the load. Now imagine in this physical state, you kicking his legs out from under him. OUCCCCHH.

  3. Please note, the techniques mentioned by me are to be applied only in situations where you deem a threat to your personal safety and the safety of your loved ones and should NEVER be used for friendly games or during sparring with partners.
I believe in strict no nonsense styles of fighting and simple application which do not require high levels of fitness. I have become known for the collection of techniques and been called for simple demonstrations during parties and camps.
On real life situations ? I am just 5’6 in height, but have knocked out opponents of 6′ in street fights, not because i hate them, but because i want to protect myself from serious bodily harm.

  4. I was never a big beliver exclusivly in video or mail order self defense courses I thought along with training some self defense tapes were all right to pick up a few extra pointers . until i saw chris clugston comrac boc tapes .I have change my mind I belive if a person has clugston tapes and a ( WILLING AND DEADICATED TRAINING PARTNER) those tapes will do more for him then up to 6 mon in a tradional karate school as far as self defense goes .

  5. Ok..ive watched a few of these and to say the least ive seen thing’s ive done wrong and reasons for some of the outcomes ive had. Just the little ive seen is very informative, ive learned alot although i have not practiced any of it as of yet,the light bulbs that have gone off in my brain could light up vegas,(which is where i live btw)and i look forward to imprinting them on my brain…although i am not in a position to buy all the tapes and training atm,as soon as i am i will be enroute to becoming one of the(nicer) badasses in the city,i say nicest cause i have no urge to use this to be an asshole in anyway, shape,or form(well maybe sometimes to people being assholes) but none the less to aid and protect as much as god see’s necessary to put in my path =].In the end i ty for info you are providing..i fear soon we will all need as much defense as we can get!

  6. people often attack at the same time, and i would like to see you do that wedge thing at full speed.and beside, you already know whats coming, what happens when you dont know whats coming.my fights have been unpredictable.and fast.and all in a broken rythem

  7. Thanks again Bob for a real life problem, most of the time we aren’t even aware of more than one attacker, this video is needful if not mandatory for street fighting.

  8. Excellent technique, I actually knew how to do a technique similar to this from my own martial arts background, so I can tell that this is effective. This is invaluable in a street fight, as most are not 1 on 1 fights. Thanks for watching out for the average people fight fast. You’re doing a great job.

  9. very cool..I always teach 90 plus% OF ATTACKS come from the right hand. Good piont that striking the left works either way..lateral movement is best!

  10. Great for when you are attacked by men wearing puffy red clothing.

PS: Martial arts guys always have goofy hair because they are stuck in the 80’s.

  11. Wanted to let you know these tips you offer are of inestimable value. I believe this once great country of ours is heading towards a very dark time for its citizens. I am very thankful for all you do, Bob. With the tools you have offered/provided I have become more confident that I will be equipped to defend my loved ones. Thank you.

  12. First of all I wish to thank “Fight Fast” for offering so many useful vidclips concerning self defense.

My wife and I are in our early 70’s. We’re obviously seniors to potential attackers. We carry the Sabre brand of pepper spray which is a combo pepper/tear gas unit that allegedly is used by NYC police at least it says so on the label.

It would be nice if “Fight Fast” offered some useful tips for seniors who are no longer agile and as fit as younger folks due to arthritic joint conditions etc. some tips on defense. I’ve studied Krav Maga techniques, but again old age doesn’t facilitate the use of many martial arts related moves.

My wife and try to stay in what I call “condition yellow” when in public; I.E., alert to our surroundings, not fearful, but alert and try our best not to act feeble, but older folks with a purpose. Just the same are there any useful fight tactics that can give older folks some advantage other than pepper spray and concealed carry as an option. I know I could not handle a punk or several in their youth in a physical confrontation. They’d whip my butt or worse.

    Any tips here?

  13. Dana….
I agree with you on the direction of our country and I have also taken to putting my self-defense and the protection of my family just under giving thanks for the very life I have and the ONE that gave it to me. I took Tae Kwon Do when I was younger and learned a lot, but these systems and fighting tips are easier to learn and easier to apply for most anyone. My son and I spar almost daily as I want him to be able to protect himself as well as my wife if, God forbid, something should happen to me and I am taken out when the SHTF in this country, which it almost inevitably will at some point. These lessons are easy for my son to learn and we practice often so that the movements become almost second nature! Thanks again Bob for all the valuable advice and great techniques demonstrated in all the video lessons you present us fight fast subscribers. Keep’em coming! Stay safe and Fight Fast…and effective!
    God bless you sir

  14. In 1979,I was attacked by three assailants… Needless to say,two of my attackers lives were terminated, the third is a quadraplegic… I was sent to prison for defending myself… Three years later, the Marine Corps stepped in and had gotten me a retrial… I was found not guilty and I was exonerated… Since then,I just go to work and back home… I did go to the Million Vet March in Washington,D.C.though… Semper Fi.!

  15. Lincoln- Us “martial arts guys” have goofy hair so we can put some whoop on your ass when you say sumtin about it!

  16. Nice technique,
Good if the other 2 persons are behind you, if not, you disable the one attacking you
finger jab to the eyes as suggested above or open hand strike to the throat or nose then grab and sweep him in front of the next attacker giving more time to get away or attack the next one. I was taught to always put someone or some thing between you and them. Or take first one down in the most violent manner possible break his nose etc. Did that once, other guys decided they no longer wanted to fight!
Keep the video techniques coming !!

  17. hello
I just heard about attackers with this self-defense and I like to know how can I protect from your system self-defens.
any other question I start training defens here in my country or at united state?
    thanks

  18. I still cannot see how damage is done. Is it just a push with your both palms? Please explain in detail if possible. Thank you, regards, Mike

  19. That procedure is great…I am 5’7″ and I literally toppled my partner of 6’2″.

    Great stuff…thanks

  20. And then…you can clothes line the next guy around the throat area (or make ’em line up to get to you) and then you have only one guy to deal with. Oh yeah Bob, I’ve been dealing in mass attack for a while, ‘cos that’s the way they like to do it these days in the street.

  21. Very interesting use of angles, simple movement of the hands that comes naturally and the defensive posture of the victim yet the techniques provides effective results and painful if that is what’s necessary to deter or neutralize the attackers.

I like so many of these guys that it’s hard to choose one over the others.

  22. To Anthony Spivey…it seems to me that you may actually be at an advantage somewhat as the purpose seems to be using his weight and torque against him as you apply yours into a very narrow spot on his shoulder. As he would be taller, wouldn’t he actually be making himself an easier target and his mass would be concentrated/coming down upon your wedge. Once you have delivered the blow you use the inertia to separate him from you. I think this would probably work very, very well!…and it is a very simple move to be able to remember. Thanks for posting Fight Fast.

  23. Hey Bob,
Carl below has an excellent idea. Is there any way that you and/or your friends could put a complete self-defense of easy/effortless moves slower moving/handicapped elders can use so that they may at least have a chance of defeating/surviving thuggie attacks? A complete self defense system dedicated to them. For instance, defense with canes, walkers, wheel chairs, the slow moving but still able to support themselves and etc. I think this is an excellent idea also. Thuggie attacks an older person in a wheel chair but has a cane available…the older person waits his time and when the thuggie gets into proper position and makes his move the older person just quickly raises his/her cane and let him charge and stick his eye with the tip of the cane etc. (An example of a possible possibility.)
