Jim West Will Be Here To Talk About Knives

Hey, FightFast Hotlist:

Our good friend Jim West (official U.S. Special Forces badass) is going to be here in the FightFast studios on August 22 through the 24th. This is going to be fun and instructive as he’ll be fielding questions from our hotlist. We’re concentrating on knives and defending yourself with a blade, but you can ask anything you want.

So, if you’d like to partake in the action, leave your questions in the comments section below. We’re going to ask him the top 50 questions submitted (minus any repeats), so submit your questions right away.

While he’s here, West will also do some hands-on demonstrations with our very popular Black Ops knife, along with another “secret weapon” we haven’t revealed to the public yet. We will also be giving away a FREE GIFT during the live event. It’ll be a random draw from anyone who submitted a question.

Watch Live

You can watch this question and answer interview LIVE. Here’s how:

  1. Subscribe to our YouTube channel by going to YouTube and searching for “FightFast”. Once you’ve found our channel, simply click the “Subscribe” button.
  2. The interview with Jim will take place on the last day, Wednesday August, 24th at 10 AM Pacific standard time.

Submit Your Questions Now!

It isn’t often that you can shoot the breeze with a U.S. Special Forces combat vet. West has been in the thick of combat. He knows more about fighting—hand to hand and with a weapon—than just about anyone else on the planet.

So, submit your questions, subscribe to the FightFast YouTube channel, and then watch Jim West live on August 24. After the interview, we will announce the winner of the FREE GIFT. See you there!

For a safe life…

  1. What’s the best knife sharpener that’s small enough for EDC? Also, how do you clean your folding knives? A lot of gunk seems to gather in the hinge area and it can be really tough to get out.

  2. Will you be addressing that in a knife fight, one should expect to be cut? So one is not surprised if/when it occurs.

Thanx brother for taking the time to discuss reality with others.

  3. Hello Sir,

How likely do you think there will be food riots in the near future in the Unites States and other advanced countries, and how would you propose to better arm and prepare the population in record time given the fickle and blind leadership currently in the White House?

    Best Regards,
    Jon

I have no formal training at this time.I’m researching methods online and in books so far.My formost question is,if you were a raw recruit again, what would you feel is best trainig method to start your knowledge quest in knife fighting?

  30. Firstly… may i please say thankyou for your service and sacrifices…

When an aggressor comes at me with a knife…and i have only my wits and my walking cane about me…what moves can i make to deflect a knife attack short of turning tail and trying to outrun him ???

My self defense instructor says swing my cane side to side in an attempt to disarm aggressor…in theory this sounds great…but in practice sessions…it seems an impossible daunting task..

Without the cane…we are told to grab the arm with the knife…rotate around…headbutt at the same time slam aggressors wrist on my knee to knock the knife out of hand…this was easier to do…but i still ended up with blade paint on me (meaning in a real situation i would have been stabbed or cut)

I am an older woman in my early 60s…and with the increase of muslums in the usa….we fear more and more for our wellbeing…the US government doesnt seem at all interested in our safety…leaving it up to our own devices for our own wellbeing…

We are also learning firearm safety and bow and arrow safety

What moves would you make to disarm an assailant from his knife (that an older person might be physically able to perform)???

    Thankyou in advance
    summer

  31. This is a hypothetical question. A small woman, under five foot just over one hundred pounds, needs to get away from a larger individual. They say high heels are the best way if it’s hit in the right spot. What other areas, with or without the shoe, would be a way for this particular individual to get away? Not to kill, only maim long enough to allow for escape.

  32. Whats the best target for a blade. Whe necessary mine will the Carotoid. How about you?

  33. Do you recommend that a bayonet be sharpened or is it better to have a dull edge? I have several that I have shared to a razors edge. To me they are a multi perpose tool.

  34. I did not have a question, but i do want to thank you for all you have done and went through for us Americans so we can sleep peacefully at night and know our forces keep us safe. I can not thank you enough from myself personally.

  35. Jim, thanks for taking my question & thank you for your service. I typically carry a knife for personal self-defense, rarely a handgun. Should I be concentrating more on handgun first or continue with my knife carry emphasis?

  36. 1st Thank you for your Service. I was 82nd AB. Vietnam. What brand name knifes do you recommend? How do you cope with the politics of this great country? Thank you Mike harrington

  37. Since weakness has overtaken my wrist due to age and repetitive surgeries,I now use mostly a firearm as a primary and a strong small bowie as a backup. I wanted to as ask your advise to what you would do to strengthen the hands and wrist to stop some of the stiffness (some shaking) after I practices with my knives.
